did deutsch-institut Berlin is a German language school in the central Berlin-Mitte district, in a modern building about 15 minutes from the Brandenburg Gate. The Berlin institute was founded in 1990 and belongs to did deutsch-institut, whose name stands for "deutsch in deutschland" and which teaches only German. It has 10 classrooms and about 2,000 international students a year, and the school states that it has received the ST Star Award.
Courses cover all six CEFR levels from A1 to C2, in classes of up to 15 students aged 17 and over, and most courses can start any week:
- General and intensive German, including intensive courses for beginners
- Exam preparation for telc, TestDaF and Goethe certificates
- Preparation for university study in Germany
- German for professional purposes
- Online German courses
- Special programmes of 2 to 6 weeks
The institute is a certified telc and TestDaF exam centre, its courses are recognised under Berlin's educational leave law, and course quality is checked by the FDSV. Intensive and university preparation courses are suitable for a language course visa. Students can book accommodation in host families, a student residence or a youth hotel, and a leisure programme includes free city walks, museum visits and day trips.

Programmes
- General German: 20, 24 or 28 lessons per week, 1 to 52 weeks, levels A1 to C2, max. 15 students, from age 17

- German for professional purposes: from 20 lessons per week, levels A2 to C2, from age 18

Students with prior knowledge can start any Monday; beginners start on set dates about once a month.
Housing
The school books three types of accommodation for its students:
- Host family: single or double room with breakfast, half board or self-catering; the bathroom is shared with the hosts
- Student residence: fully furnished rooms with private bathroom, kitchenette and free Wi-Fi
- Youth hotel: rooms with private bathroom, breakfast and free Wi-Fi, under 20 minutes from the institute by bus
