The Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Arrecife (EOI Arrecife) is a public official language school in Arrecife, Lanzarote (Canary Islands), under the Canary Islands Government's education ministry. It offers regulated public language teaching and official certificates at CEFR levels A2 to C2 in five languages: German, Arabic, Spanish for foreigners, French and English. The main building has eight classrooms with 63 groups, and two annexes in Tías and Yaiza (Playa Blanca) host English groups.

Regular courses are annual, with classes on two days a week (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday); 2026-27 classes started on 21 and 22 September 2026. The building is open Monday to Thursday from 8:00 to 14:00 and from 15:00 to 22:30, and on Fridays from 8:00 to 14:00. The school also runs specialisation courses and a cultural programme in all its languages, including the 10-Minute Concerts series.

New students apply for a place online, choosing up to three languages. Applicants who want to start above A1 or A2.1 without a previous certificate take a placement test; for 2026-27 it was held in person on 7 September 2026 and cost €19.18. Enrolment instructions for new students are also given in English on the school website, and documents include a DNI or NIE (plus passport for NIE holders), a health card and a photo.

Admission Requirements

  • Apply online for a place; one application may include up to three languages
  • A placement test is required to start in a course other than A1 or A2.1 without a passed level or a Bachillerato; for 2026-27 it was held in person (oral and written) on 7 September 2026, with a fee of €19.18
  • Enrolment documents: DNI or NIE (NIE holders also scan their passport), health card, photo, proof of fee payment and a €10 materials payment; a grade certificate is needed to enter above A2.1
  • Instructions for new students are also published in English
