The Escuela Oficial de Idiomas (EOI) de Huelva is a public official language school in Huelva (Andalusia), run by the Andalusian regional education authority (Junta de Andalucía). It was created in the 1988-89 academic year and is now located on Avenida de La Orden. The school teaches German, Spanish, French, English, Italian and Portuguese, in face-to-face, blended and distance formats depending on the language. According to the school, 1,946 students from 22 nationalities are enrolled this year.
Spanish for foreigners is taught at the Básico level (two courses, Nivel Básico 1 and 2) and at Intermedio B1 in the 2026-27 academic year. Face-to-face courses take about 140 hours a year, or four and a half hours of class a week. Students who pass the final course of a level obtain the official certificate for that level (for example Nivel Básico or Nivel Intermedio B1).
Places are requested each year from 1 to 20 May, online or at the school office. Applicants with some knowledge of the language can start above the first course with a recognised certificate or by passing an initial placement test (Prueba Inicial de Clasificación, PIC). After the admission period, remaining places can be requested from 1 September through forms on the school website.
