Farmingdale State College (FSC) is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) and describes itself as SUNY's largest college of applied science and technology. It is located in Farmingdale, on Long Island, New York (United States), and has a student-to-faculty ratio of 19:1.

Its four schools offer 46 degree programmes, mainly bachelor's degrees, plus a few master's degrees:

  • School of Arts & Sciences
  • School of Business
  • Pasternack School of Engineering Technology, with the only four-year public pre-pilot programme in New York State and a fleet of 17 aircraft
  • Santmann School of Health Sciences

Master's degrees include Construction Management and Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs. International students apply online with a US$50 fee and need a course-by-course credential evaluation from a NACES member. Financial aid and scholarships are not available to international students, and Dental Hygiene and Nursing are open only to US citizens and permanent residents.

Admission Requirements

International applicants apply online (application fee US$50) to one programme only. Applications for Spring and Fall 2027 are open; deadlines are 1 June for fall and 1 November for spring admission. Required documents:

  • Official school and university records with certified translation and a course-by-course evaluation by a NACES member
  • English proficiency results
  • SUNY autobiographical essay
  • Copy of the passport photo page
  • Financial documents for the I-20: proof of US$40,000 for students living on campus, or US$28,000 with a local sponsor providing room and meals

Health insurance is mandatory. Dental Hygiene and Nursing are not open to international students.

Language Requirements

Applicants whose native language is not English need one of: TOEFL iBT 74 (4.0 on the new scale), IELTS 6.0, PTE 53, Duolingo 105 or SAT Evidence-Based Reading 400, taken within two years before the application term. A grade of C+ or better in a college-level writing course at an accredited US college is also accepted.

Financial Aid

Farmingdale State College states that financial aid and scholarships are not available to international students, who must show proof of funding before the I-20 is issued.
