Felician University is an independent, co-educational Catholic Franciscan university in New Jersey (United States), founded and sponsored by the Felician Sisters; according to the university, it is the only Franciscan university in the state. It has two suburban campuses, in Rutherford and Lodi, about 10 miles from New York City, and approximately 2,800 undergraduate, graduate and adult students. Its teams compete in NCAA Division II.

Felician offers more than 60 career-focused programmes in four areas: nursing, education, business and information sciences, and arts and sciences, with full-time, part-time and online options. Newer programmes cover fields such as artificial intelligence, data science and cybersecurity. Classes are small (around 15 students), and students can join the Honors Program, a United Nations Fellows Program and courses with study abroad trips.

International students are supported by the Office of International Programs and are encouraged to apply early to be considered for scholarships and grants for international students. The residence halls on the Rutherford campus house more than 600 domestic and international students.

More than 60 career-focused undergraduate, pre-professional and certificate programmes in four schools:

  • Nursing

The Honors Program (for students with a high school average of 3.4 or more) requires 27 honours credits and 90 service hours. A United Nations Fellows Program is also available.

Financial Aid

International applicants who apply early are considered for special scholarships and grants for international students. According to the university, all incoming freshmen receive some scholarship or grant, and the average scholarship is US$31,000.

Housing

Residence halls are on the Rutherford campus, less than a mile from downtown Rutherford and 10 miles from New York City, and house more than 600 domestic and international students.
