Hartpury University is a specialist university on a 360-hectare rural campus in Gloucestershire, England, which it shares with Hartpury College. Hartpury's history goes back to 1948, and it now has students from more than 60 countries. The university specialises in agriculture, animal science, business, equine studies, psychology, sport and veterinary nursing. According to the university, it was named Specialist University of the Year 2026 by The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide, and its undergraduate provision received TEF Gold in 2023.
Hartpury offers undergraduate degrees, including foundation and top-up routes, as well as master's degrees and PhDs in animal, agriculture, equine, sport and veterinary subjects, full-time or part-time. Students use on-campus facilities such as animal collections, an equine therapy centre, competition-standard arenas, a sports academy and veterinary nursing facilities.
International students can join full degrees or exchange and study abroad programmes. Applicants who need to improve their English can take an online pre-sessional course with the Oxford International Digital Institute. First-year undergraduates are guaranteed accommodation, either in on-campus halls or at Blackfriars in Gloucester city centre, about 15 minutes away.

- Most postgraduate programmes: 6.5 overall, at least 5.5 in each component
- Some postgraduate programmes: 7.0 overall
- BSc (Hons) Veterinary Nursing: 7.0 with 6.5 in each element
Cambridge CAE, LanguageCert, Oxford ELLT, Pearson PTE, TOEFL iBT (test centre only) and Trinity ISE are also accepted. An online pre-sessional English course of 6, 12 or 16 weeks is offered with the Oxford International Digital Institute.
First-year undergraduates are guaranteed accommodation once they have made Hartpury their firm choice. Options are on-campus halls in the Gloucestershire countryside, a few minutes from classes, or Blackfriars in Gloucester city centre (managed by Aspire Student Living, en-suite rooms), about 15 minutes by bus or car. International fee-paying postgraduates can also live at Blackfriars. Private housing is available in Gloucester, Cheltenham and nearby villages.
