Hastings School

Primary and secondary school in Madrid, Spain

Hastings School is a private British international school in central Madrid for children and young people aged 2 to 18. Founded in 1971, it is part of the Cognita group of schools and, according to the school, has 1,375 students. It is spread over six campuses: three in the Chamartín district, within about five minutes' walk of each other, and three in the Arturo Soria and Conde Orgaz areas. Together they cover all stages from Early Years to Sixth Form.

Teaching follows a British education and is fully in English, with teachers mostly from the UK. Older students take IGCSE examinations and then either A levels or the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in the Sixth Form, known as Nexus. The school gives personalised support with university applications and states that in most years all of its students go on to university.

From Year 1 to Year 13 (ages 5 to 17), applicants complete an assessment and an individual interview before being offered a place. Children joining Nursery or Reception do not need any prior knowledge of English, and primary pupils with a lower level of English can take additional lessons. Fees for the 2026-27 school year are published on the school's website.
