The International School of Madrid (ISM) is a private, family-owned British school in the Chamartín district of Madrid, founded in 1971. It has more than 800 pupils aged 2 to 18 from over 40 nationalities. The school follows the English National Curriculum, with classes taught in English by British teachers, and aims for all pupils to become fluent in both English and Spanish. ISM is a founding member of NABSS, the association of British schools in Spain.
- Early Years: Pre-Nursery to Reception (ages 2 to 5)
- Primary: Year 1 to Year 6 (ages 5 to 11)
- Secondary: Year 7 to Year 11 (ages 11 to 16)
- Sixth Form: Year 12 and Year 13 (ages 16 to 18), combining British A-levels with Spanish subjects
The Sixth Form prepares students for British, US and Spanish universities. According to the school, its students have received 104 Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards since 2009. Teaching takes place at three sites: the Primary and Middle School buildings on Calle Rosa Jardón and the Secondary School on Calle Serrano Galvache. Admissions are open throughout the year.

Admission
Admissions are open throughout the year. Families contact the school by phone, email or online form, and an admissions director gives a tour (in person or virtual). Children entering Early Years do not need any English; in later years, enough English to follow the curriculum is required. From Year 7 to Year 13 an entrance test may be required, together with the child's latest school report. A place is confirmed after the application form, successful entrance tests and a deposit.
