Impact English College is an English language school with campuses in central Brisbane, at Level 1/110 Eagle Street near Queen Street Mall and Central Station, and in central Melbourne, on Little Collins Street. Its awards include the 2015 Premier's Award (International Education Provider of the Year) and Victorian International Education Awards for English language training in 2013, 2014 and 2018. The college keeps an English-only policy, and its students come from over 35 countries.

All students must be at least 18 and take an entry level test for placement. General English starts every Monday, with a maximum of 18 students per class. The Demi Pair programme combines study with up to 15 hours per week of housekeeping and childminding in a host home. Homestay is arranged through a registered homestay agency with support from bilingual counsellors at the college, and student residence rooms are also offered.

  • General English: 6 levels, Elementary to Advanced, start every Monday, minimum 4 weeks

Admission Requirements

Students must be at least 18 years old. Applicants download the application form (and the accommodation application form if needed) from the college website, and take an entry level test for placement. There is a AU$200 application fee (2026), and student visa holders need Overseas Student Health Cover. Courses run only with sufficient student numbers.

Language Requirements

An entry level test is required for placement into all courses. Minimum levels: none for General English (Elementary to Advanced); Pre-Intermediate for Extreme English Foundation and Intermediate for Excel and Barista/Café English; Upper Intermediate for Business English, IELTS/EAP and Cambridge FCE; Advanced for Cambridge CAE.

Fees

2026 price list (Australian dollars):

  • Tuition, all courses: AU$410 per week
  • Application fee: AU$200
  • Textbooks and materials: AU$15 per week (minimum AU$60 per course)
  • Cambridge FCE or CAE exam, and barista training: AU$450 each

The 2026 tuition fee applies to applications made by 31 December 2026 with payment received before 31 January 2027.

Housing

Homestay is arranged through a registered homestay agency, with follow-up from bilingual counsellors at the college. In 2026 homestay costs AU$410 per week for a single room (two meals on weekdays, three at weekends), plus a AU$350 placement fee. Student residence rooms are offered in Brisbane (Iglu Brisbane City AU$450 per week, Student One AU$440) and Melbourne (AU$500-550 per week). Airport pick-up from Brisbane costs AU$160.
