Lewis School of English is an English language school in the centre of Southampton, a university city on the south coast of England about 75 minutes from London. The school was established in 1976 and occupies four 18th-century townhouses opposite a park and next to Solent University. Besides its adult school, it runs junior programmes, teacher training and online courses.
- General English and IELTS courses for adults aged 16 and over
- Combination courses, Academic Year, afternoon classes and one-to-one lessons
- Junior programmes, with summer centres in Winchester and Southampton and groups all year round
- Teacher training, including the CertTESOL course
- Live online courses for adults, juniors and teachers
Adult students can stay with a host family approved and regularly inspected by the school, usually 10 to 35 minutes by bus away, on half or full board. The school also cooperates with two city-centre residences, Austen House and Crescent Place, both within a 10-minute walk; these rooms are booked and managed directly by the residences. Welfare staff at reception are available to help with any concerns during the stay.

Housing
- Homestay all year round with hosts approved and regularly inspected by the school, 10 to 35 minutes by bus from the school; regular or executive (private bathroom), half board or full board. In 2026 a regular homestay costs from £190 per week (half board, low season)
- Summer residences Austen House and Crescent Place, within a 10-minute walk: single en-suite rooms in shared flats of 4 to 6 people from £190 per week, minimum stay two weeks; booked and managed directly by the residences
- Other residences and private rentals, booked by the student
