Lycée Français de Barcelone

Primary and secondary school in Barcelona, Spain

The Lycée Français de Barcelone (LFB) is a French international school in Barcelona, established in its current form in 1924. It is managed directly by the AEFE, the French government agency for French education abroad, and its teaching is approved by the French Ministry of Education; the school is also recognised and authorised by the Spanish government. Most teachers are tenured staff of the French Ministry of Education. The main site (elementary, middle and high school) is at Bosch i Gimpera 6-10, and the preschool is at Munner 5.

The LFB follows the French education system from preschool at age 3 to the French Baccalaureate at 18. Four languages are taught: French, Spanish, Catalan and English. Under the Franco-Spanish cultural agreements, Spanish and Catalan language and literature and the history and geography of Spain are added, so students can also obtain the Spanish Graduado en ESO and Título de Bachiller. Newcomers who do not speak Spanish or Catalan receive introductory classes. Baccalaureate holders are exempt from the general phase of the Spanish university entrance exam, and the school prepares subjects for the specific phase (PCE). The school reports around 2,900 students of more than 73 nationalities and a 100% pass rate in the 2026 Baccalaureate.

Admission priority from Moyenne Section onwards goes to students already in the French school system whose parents are relocated for work.
