Maxwell School is an inclusive international school in Madrid for pupils aged 3 to 16. Its education is structured by the British National Curriculum and follows the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) and Cambridge International IGCSE. The school was founded by its head, Linda Barbour.

Maxwell describes itself as an inclusive school that welcomes a wide range of learners and builds special educational needs support into its academic programme. Each pupil follows a bilingual curriculum that addresses academic, emotional and social communication needs with the help of a multidisciplinary team, in small classes with a low pupil-teacher ratio.

  • Early Years (EYFS)
  • Primary (International Primary Curriculum)
  • Middle School (International Middle Years Curriculum)
  • Cambridge IGCSE, up to Year 11

The school has two campuses in the El Viso area of the Salamanca district, a five-minute walk apart and close to República Argentina metro station (Line 6): the main building on Calle Serrano and a house used by older pupils. Lessons run Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 16:15, with supervision from 8:00 and after-school clubs until 17:15. Admissions are rolling throughout the year, and every applicant is assessed to plan an individual programme of study.
