Miami Country Day School (MCDS) is an independent, coeducational, nonprofit school in North Miami, Florida, founded in 1938. It serves more than 1,400 students from pre-kindergarten (PK3) to grade 12 on a single 22-acre campus, and its students speak 17 languages. The school is a member of the Cum Laude Society and, according to the school, one of eight schools worldwide endorsed by the Global Education Benchmark Group.
Teaching is organised in four stages, early childhood, lower school, middle school and upper school, and the upper school follows a college-preparatory curriculum with honors, AP and post-AP classes. The school reports a student-teacher ratio of 8:1. Spartans Around, the school's online programme, is open to students in grade 6 and above. Students can also take part in arts, STEM and 12 competitive sports.
Applications for the 2027-28 school year are open. The admission process includes an online application, a conversation with the enrollment team and grade-specific requirements; applicants for grade 6 and above take the ISEE or SSAT. Need-based tuition assistance of more than US$6 million a year is available to students entering grade 6 and above. The Office of Enrollment can be reached at [email protected].
