Myland International School (Espartinas campus)

Primary and secondary school in Espartinas, Spain

Myland is an international school near Seville run by the Fundación Educativa Myland. It was founded in 2010 by a family looking for an alternative education for their own children, and describes itself as an active international school based on child-centred teaching. Families from countries such as Germany, Austria, Brazil, Canada, the United States, Italy and the UK have attended. The Consejería de Educación (Andalusian education authority) has authorised Myland as a foreign international school, and the school is enrolled in the accreditation process of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

Myland teaches Early Years, Primary, Secondary and Bachillerato. Secondary is organised in three cycles (Middle School, High School and Bachillerato), and Myland High School has its own separate campus. The academic content follows the Andalusian regional curriculum, but it is taught through projects (PBL) rather than separate subjects, in mixed-age groups of 15 pupils from the same cycle. The programme is bilingual, with Spanish-speaking and English-speaking teachers. Additional strands in robotics, architecture, ecology and journalism run across the curriculum.

The foundation's office is in Bollullos de la Mitación (Seville) and can be contacted at [email protected].
