The National University of Uzbekistan named after Mirzo Ulugbek (NUUz) is a university in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. Its main building is on University Street in the Almazor district. According to the university, it has 13 faculties, 70 departments, about 34,000 students and 1,230 professors and teachers, and it offers study in 56 educational fields and 15 joint educational programmes.

Its departments cover a broad range of subjects, including:

  • Software engineering, artificial intelligence and information security

  • History, political science, psychology, law and philosophy

Studies follow a credit-module system aligned with ECTS: bachelor's programmes last three years (180 credits) or four years (240 credits), and master's programmes last two years. The university student residence has 11 buildings with 5,000 places.

Housing

The university student residence has 11 buildings with 5,000 places; the university states that 5,600 students currently live there. Rooms are furnished, and each floor has a kitchen, toilets, washrooms and showers. The residence has a study hall and medical room, and sports, language, computer and cookery clubs are organised for residents.
