Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) is a university in the city centre of Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. It was established in 2002 together with the "UMID" Presidential Foundation, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education and the University of Westminster in London, and describes itself as Uzbekistan's first international university. Its undergraduate degrees are accredited by the University of Westminster (UK), and all programmes are taught in English. The university is housed in a historic building whose construction began in 1911.

Students can join exchange programmes and can transfer to or continue their studies at the University of Westminster in London. The international office supports international applicants and helps international students with visas and registration. WIUT has two halls of residence in Tashkent, open to enrolled students who are not Tashkent residents; places are allocated competitively.

Fees

Tuition fees for the 2026-27 academic year (in Uzbek som, UZS):

  • Pre-foundation course (CPFS): 12,000,000 UZS per subject (Maths); 20,000,000 UZS for Maths and English
  • Cambridge AS & A Levels: 38,820,000 UZS for three subjects
  • Postgraduate courses: 54,439,200 UZS per course (180 credits)
  • MBA and its pathways, MBA in Finance: 56,869,200 UZS
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning: 18,146,400 UZS (60 credits)

Continuing undergraduate students pay the annual fee in four instalments.

Housing

WIUT has two halls of residence in Tashkent: Yangi Zamon Hall (1A Yangi Zamon Street, for undergraduate students) and Turk Kurgan Hall (9 Turk Kurgan Street). Only students enrolled for the academic year who are not Tashkent residents can apply, through the online housing application on the intranet. Demand is high and allocation is competitive, so early application is advised. For the 2025-26 academic year the standard fee was 800,000 UZS per month, paid in advance for four or eight months.
