The University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) is a specialised higher education institution in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, founded on 23 September 1992. It operates under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and focuses on international relations, diplomacy, law and economics. According to the university, it has more than 5,320 undergraduate and graduate students.
Teaching is organised in three schools: International Relations, International Law, and International Economics and Management. Bachelor's degrees are offered in four fields:
- International Relations
- Political Science
- World Economy and International Economic Relations
- Law in the field of international legal activity (Jurisprudence)
The university also offers a one-year master's programme and executive education for public-sector officials and business leaders. Admission quotas for bachelor's programmes are set by language of instruction, Uzbek or Russian, and students can choose a second foreign language from 12 options. Studies include academic mobility and internships. Uzbek citizens apply online and sit a state entrance test; foreign citizens follow a separate admission procedure.
