North Carolina Wesleyan University (NCWU) is a private, co-educational liberal arts university in Rocky Mount, North Carolina (United States). Founded in 1956, it is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. The main campus covers 200 acres, and the university also runs satellite advising offices across North Carolina for adult students. According to the university, it has more than 170 international students from over 40 countries.

NCWU offers liberal arts, professional, graduate and online programmes for traditional students and working adults, together with an honors programme and a study abroad programme. Main areas include:

  • Sciences, including biology, chemistry and pre-medical tracks
  • Criminal justice, psychology and social sciences
  • Nursing and health administration

A 3+1 pathway lets students complete a bachelor's degree in three years and a master's in one, and adult learners can take accelerated 8-week, hybrid and online classes. About three out of four students live on campus, in eight residence halls and 16 townhouses. Applications are free and are reviewed under a rolling admissions system.

Admission

NCWU considers applicants whose personal and academic record shows intellectual ability and educational achievement. Applications are free and are reviewed under a rolling admissions system, once all the required information has been received. Transfer students can apply through a separate transfer process.

Housing

NCWU has eight residence halls and 16 townhouses on its Rocky Mount campus, which serves both residential and commuting students. According to the university, three out of four students choose to live on campus. A virtual tour of residential life is available on the website.
