Its students come from 40 US states and territories and 27 countries, and about one third are international or US multicultural students. The faculty-student ratio is 12:1.
OWU offers more than 70 majors, and students can also design personalised majors. Fields range from business, data analytics, fine arts, communication and education to sciences such as neuroscience and zoology, together with pre-professional preparation for medicine, dentistry, law and engineering. Through The OWU Connection, students combine their courses with study abroad, Travel-Learning Courses, research grants and internships.
Students live on campus for all four years, in residence halls, university-owned apartments, fraternity houses, Small Living Units and theme communities. International students have their own application route, separate from the routes for US first-year students and for transfer students.
