The Pontificia Universidad Católica de Puerto Rico (PUCPR), known as La Católica, is a Catholic university founded in 1948 and one of 25 pontifical universities in the world. Its main campus is in Ponce, on Boulevard Luis A. Ferré Aguayo opposite the Museo de Arte de Ponce, and it has two further campuses in Arecibo and Mayagüez.

The university offers more than 160 academic programmes across seven colleges and schools, and students can combine programmes in more than one area. Levels of study include:

  • Associate and bachelor's degrees
  • Master's degrees and doctorates
  • Juris Doctor at the School of Law
  • Professional certificates and non-university technical certificates, such as culinary arts
  • Short programmes and continuing education, including online courses

The colleges and schools cover Sciences, Arts and Humanities, Law, Architecture, Education, Business Administration, and Graduate Studies in Behavioural Sciences and Community Affairs.
