Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is a college of science, mathematics and engineering in Terre Haute, Indiana (United States). It focuses on undergraduate study with small classes and hands-on learning through projects, research and internships, and also has a graduate studies office. According to the institute, U.S. News & World Report ranks it first in the country for undergraduate engineering (2027 edition), and it reports a 95% placement rate for the Class of 2025.
Departments cover chemical, civil, mechanical, electrical and computer, biomedical and optical engineering, computer science and software engineering, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology, engineering management, and humanities, social sciences and the arts. There is also a major in artificial intelligence.
The incoming Class of 2030 includes students from countries such as Spain, Peru, Bolivia, France and India. International students apply as first-year or transfer students and can use International Student Services, English as a Second Language support, study abroad and dual degree programmes. Every applicant is considered for merit scholarships. Students live in on-campus residence halls and apartments.

International students apply as first-year (finishing secondary school) or transfer students, through the GoRose App or the Common App. A complete application includes:

Applicants choose non-binding Early Action or Regular Decision. After admission, an affidavit of support showing funds for the cost of attendance is needed for the I-20. An optional InitialView interview is accepted.

Applicants with at least 500 in SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing or 21 in ACT English are exempt.
Estimated costs for a first-year student in the 2026-27 academic year: tuition and fees US$59,772, housing and food US$18,534 and a one-time laptop fee of US$2,800 (US$81,106 in direct costs), plus about US$1,200 for books and supplies. Student health insurance costs US$1,091 for the academic year and international students cannot waive it. Tuition per credit hour is US$1,705.
Every applicant, including international students, is considered for merit scholarships. The institute cannot meet students' full financial need, and full-tuition or full-ride scholarships are very limited. A Net Price Calculator estimates the cost of attendance.
Students live in on-campus residence halls, including a hall for new first-year students, and in apartments, with double or single rooms. In 2026-27 a double room costs between US$10,095 and US$12,570 per year and a single between US$15,144 and US$18,855, depending on the hall.
