SACI College of Art & Design

SACI College of Art & Design is an American art and design school in Florence, Italy. It was founded in 1975 in Florence as Studio Arts Consortium International (SACI) by the painter and Fulbright scholar Jules Maidoff. According to the school, it was the first institution in Europe to be accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). For many years SACI students received transcripts through Bowling Green State University (BGSU); today Paris College of Art is the school of record.

Until 2021 SACI offered undergraduate and graduate degrees, but it closed temporarily after the pandemic. It reopened in fall 2023 with a new art and design curriculum for undergraduate students who want to spend one or two semesters in Florence studying art or design, art history and liberal studies. Studio courses are taught as intensive workshops that combine technical and conceptual research across disciplines.

The school's stated aim is to give college-level students experience of traditional and contemporary liberal and studio arts in Europe. Applications for art and design study in Florence are open.
