Sala Teatro Cuarta Pared

Cuarta Pared is a theatre in central Madrid, at Calle Ercilla 17, near the Embajadores and Acacias metro stations. It specialises in contemporary theatre and combines a performance venue, a drama school, a resident theatre company and a research space. The Compañía Cuarta Pared has been working since 1986 and won Spain's Premio Nacional de Teatro in 2020. According to the theatre, about 35,000 spectators attend its programme each season.

The Escuela Cuarta Pared bases its regular actor training on the idea of the "actor creador" (creative actor), preparing students to work above all in contemporary theatre. The school states that several hundred students enrol each year. Besides the regular training, it offers:

• Theatre school for children and young people
• Introductory theatre courses for adult amateurs
• Introductory theatre course for people aged 55 and over
• Professional workshops for actors, actresses and directors
• Courses and workshops for performing-arts professionals and students

Prospective students can request a free trial class. Its research programme, Espacio Teatro Contemporáneo (ETC), gives performing-arts professionals time and space to develop new stage languages.
