Sciences Po Bordeaux (Institut d’Études Politiques de Bordeaux) is one of the ten French Instituts d’études politiques. It was founded in 1948 and is located on the university campus in Pessac, in the Bordeaux area, at 11 allée Ausone. The school describes itself as a public university institution. Teaching is multidisciplinary across the humanities and social sciences: sociology, political science, economics, management, constitutional and public law, contemporary history and international relations. The second cycle has four majors and around twenty master's tracks, and the school also runs preparation courses for public-service entrance exams, continuing education and doctoral studies.

Options for international students include:

  • Exchange semesters or years through some 160 partner institutions, or as an individual applicant (Free Mover)
  • French Track and English Track exchange programmes
  • English-taught dual degrees with Hong Kong Baptist University (BEP HK) and LUISS in Rome (BEP LUISS)
  • Bilingual binational degree programmes

The English Track lasts one academic year (60 ECTS credits) or one semester (30 ECTS credits), is open to students with little or no French and includes a French as a foreign language course. Foreign applicants to the first cycle are admitted under the same conditions as French students and sit the same entrance exams.
