Located in the beautiful state of Utah in the United States, Snow College has been the educational, artistic, musical and sports center of Central Utah for over 100 years. Encouraged by Snow's high academic standards and dedication to the pursuit of knowledge, thousands of graduates have gone on to earn higher degrees at colleges and universities throughout the country. Snow College was founded in 1888 as the Sanpete Stake Academy by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In 1900 it was renamed Snow Academy in honor of Lorenzo Snow, president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his cousin Erastus, who was instrumental in settling the Sanpete Valley.
The main campus of Snow College is located in Ephraim, Utah—some 120 miles south of Salt Lake City. There is also another campus in the nearby city of Richfield, Utah. The main campus comprises 26 buildings, fourteen of which are academic, and others that include the Performing Arts Center, the Activity Center (for athletic activities, including swimming), and an art gallery.
One of the more important centers housed by the university is the International Center. Also known as the Center for Global Engagement, it serves international students from over 20 countries around the globe and is dedicated to providing global engagement experiences for all Snow College students. The Center for Global Engagement approaches each student as a unique individual with outstanding potential to enrich the educational experience at Snow College.
Providing personal, professional and caring service to each of its students is the top priority of the International Center; its faculty is committed to providing one on one counseling services, as well as providing opportunities for meaningful Global Engagement experiences. The Center for Global Engagement works collaboratively with faculty, student groups, and departments throughout Snow College to provide and support meaningful Global Engagement experiences and opportunities for the entire Snow College community.
