Sydney Metropolitan English Institute (SMEI) is an English language college in central Sydney, Australia, with its office at 545 Kent Street. It teaches English to overseas students and offers two courses: General English (GE) in five levels, from Elementary to Advanced, and English for Academic Purposes (EAP) in three levels, from Intermediate to Advanced. The college mentions possible pathways to further education.

General English prepares students for university, higher education, TAFE or VET, or for everyday life. Teaching is face-to-face, 20 hours per week, with a maximum of 18 students per class, and ten hours of self-study per week are recommended. Each week has a different topic, and classes sometimes go outside to practise English in real situations.

Offshore international students have two weeks to accept the offer and pay the first year's fees in full, which is required before the student visa is issued.
