The Ark Christian School is a British school in Las Lagunas de Mijas, on the Costa del Sol, about 30 minutes from Málaga. It was established in 2009 by the Ark Christian Church and is registered with the regional authorities as an independent, charitable (non-profit) organisation. The school takes children from 2 to 18 years old and teaches the British National Curriculum, leading to IGCSE and A Level examinations, with Spanish language studies added to the programme.
- Early Years (ages 2-4)
- Primary (ages 5-10)
- Secondary, Key Stages 3 and 4 (ages 11-15), with most students taking 9 IGCSE subjects
- Sixth Form with A Level examinations
The school ethos is based on Christian values, but it is open to children of all backgrounds. According to the school, A Level results give access to universities in the UK, Spain and other countries, and students can enter Spanish public universities through an accreditation process without taking the Spanish university entrance exam. The Instituto Canzion music school is based on the premises and provides music lessons and the choir. Primary classes run Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 15:00 and Secondary until 16:00. New families are admitted throughout the year after a visit, a review of school reports and possible placement tests.
