Thomas Jefferson University (Jefferson) is a university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, formed on 1 July 2017 by the merger of Thomas Jefferson University, founded in 1824 as Jefferson Medical College, and Philadelphia University, founded in 1884 as the Philadelphia Textile School. Its main locations are the Center City and East Falls campuses.
Jefferson offers nearly 200 undergraduate and graduate programmes, plus nearly 100 online programmes, through colleges including:
- Sidney Kimmel Medical College
- Architecture, Design and Engineering
- Business, and Fashion and Textiles
- Health Professions, Nursing, Pharmacy and Rehabilitation Sciences
- Humanities and Sciences, Life Sciences and Population Health
Classes average 18 students and follow the university's Nexus Learning approach, which has students from different majors work together on real projects. An Office of International Student Programs supports international students, who are all considered for an International Merit Scholarship of US$15,000 to US$26,000 and attend an orientation before their first semester. First-year students from more than 15 miles away live in university housing for two years.

Undergraduate programmes across architecture, business, design, engineering, fashion and textiles, health, science and social science, taught with an interdisciplinary approach. Accelerated online undergraduate degree-completion programmes are also offered.
Graduate certificates, master's and doctoral programmes in fields such as health professions, nursing, pharmacy, rehabilitation sciences, life sciences and population health, many also online. Sidney Kimmel Medical College offers medical education for bachelor's graduates.
International students declare their status when applying. First-year applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with a non-binding Early Action round and a Regular Decision round. Students may be admitted conditionally on unofficial documents and must then send official final transcripts. After admission, the international team invites students to an International Services Portal to submit the documents needed for the I-20 or DS-2019.
All international applicants are considered for an International Merit Scholarship of US$15,000 to US$26,000 when their application is reviewed; the terms are given in the acceptance letter. Students needing more funding are encouraged to look at loans in their home country. On-campus jobs for international students are limited.
Full-time first-year undergraduates who live more than 15 miles away must live in university-owned or leased housing for their first two years, so international students join the residential community. Residential life is organised on both the Center City and East Falls campuses.
