Friends Select School is a Quaker school in central Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, located at 1651 Benjamin Franklin Parkway. It traces its roots to the first Friends school, founded in Philadelphia in 1689. The school itself began in 1833, when local Quaker meetings set up a Select School for Girls and a Select School for Boys; in 1885 the two were brought together in a new building on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, where the school has been ever since. It is under the care of two Quaker meetings, the Central Philadelphia Monthly Meeting and the Monthly Meeting of Friends of Philadelphia.

Friends Select teaches from pre-kindergarten to grade 12 in three divisions:

• Lower School, grades PK-4
• Middle School, grades 5-8
• Upper School, grades 9-12

Quaker practices are part of daily school life, based on the testimonies of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equity and justice, and stewardship; students take part in community service and peaceful conflict resolution, and the school uses the city as a classroom. The Parkway building was recently renovated, with a new lower school art studio, classrooms and a rooftop athletic field, and the Upper School has a new STEAM building for science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics.
