The Universidad Miguel Hernández de Elche (UMH) is a public university based in Elche. It has four campuses, in Elche, Orihuela, Sant Joan d'Alacant and Altea, and offers official bachelor's degrees, official master's degrees and doctorates, as well as lifelong learning (master's, specialist and expert programmes) and university microcredentials.
For the 2026-27 academic year the UMH lists bachelor's degrees in the arts, sciences, health sciences, social and legal sciences and engineering, for example:
- Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Psychology
- Biotechnology and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
- Telecommunications, Computer, Mechanical and Industrial Technology Engineering
- Law (also in a blended format), Journalism and Audiovisual Communication
- Fine Arts, taught at the Altea campus
According to the university, it has 776 mobility agreements, 4,704 company internships and €550,000 in scholarships, and it runs a language centre. People without a qualification that gives access to university can enter official degree studies through entrance exams for applicants over 25 or over 45, or through a route for applicants over 40 with relevant work experience.
