The Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED) is Spain's national distance-learning university. Its central headquarters are at Calle Bravo Murillo 38 in Madrid, and students can also get face-to-face support at associated centres (Centros Asociados) and at UNED centres abroad. Tuition is charged at public prices set each year by ministerial order.

A bachelor's degree requires 240 ECTS credits. General access is through the university entrance exam, a university degree or higher vocational training (FP Superior); students can also transfer from or study simultaneously at another Spanish university. Adults over 25 can enter through an access course or a free entrance exam, those over 40 through relevant work experience, and those over 45 through a specific test. International students obtain their access accreditation through UNEDassis. Enrolment is done online through the Campus UNED, and the Centro de Orientación y Empleo (COIE) advises students on planning their studies and on employment.

Admission
Routes to UNED bachelor's degrees:
- General access: university entrance exam, a university degree or higher vocational training (FP Superior)
- Transfer of university studies started at another university, or simultaneous study at another Spanish university
- Over 25: access course or free entrance exam
- Over 40: accredited professional experience related to the chosen degree
- Over 45: entrance test valid only for UNED degrees
- International students: access accreditation through UNEDassis
Deadlines
Enrolment periods for the 2026-27 academic year:
- Bachelor's degrees: enrolment from 1 July to 21 October 2026
- Doctorate: enrolment from 15 October to 16 November 2026 (thesis enrolment open all year)
- Access course for over-25s and over-45s: enrolment from 1 July to 21 October 2026; free entrance exam registration from 1 February to 10 March 2027
- UNED language courses: from 8 September to 21 October 2026
- Continuing education: from 7 September to 27 November 2026 (some courses until 15 January 2027)
