The Universidad Politécnica de Cartagena (UPCT) is the youngest technical university in Spain, being founded in the year of 1998. Still, Engineering and Business Studies have established a strong tradition at the university, as many of its schools exist since the beginning of last century. Besides, the school aims to promote its exchange programs, receiving students both from Europe and Latin American countries. Many PhD students from the latter choose UPCT to continue their careers or do research. The school offers degree studies and official master studies in its schools of Architecture and Building Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Naval and Oceanographic Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Business Studies, Civil Engineering, and Defence University Center.
