The Université Jean Moulin Lyon 3 is a university in Lyon, France, specialising in the humanities and social sciences. It has about 28,000 students, of whom more than 5,000 are international, and three campuses: Manufacture des Tabacs (Lyon 8th district), Campus des Quais (Lyon 7th district) and Bourg-en-Bresse.
Its six faculties and institutes offer degrees from bachelor's (licence) to doctorate, following the European LMD system with ECTS credits, in:
- Law, political science and international relations
- Management, business and accounting (iaelyon School of Management)
- Languages, literature and francophone studies
- Philosophy, history, geography and planning
- Information and communication
It also offers technology bachelor's degrees (BUT), professional bachelor's degrees and university diplomas. For international students there are specific programmes, à la carte courses in English and, for exchange students, the DEUF (French university studies diploma, taught in French) and SELF (Study in English in Lyon, France). Degree applicants need French at level B2 for a licence and C1 for a master's or DUT; students living in one of the 75 countries covered by the Études en France procedure apply through Campus France.

Applicants with foreign degrees apply for a master's through eCandidat or, from countries covered by Études en France, through Campus France; French at level C1 (DALF C1) is required.
Students coming individually (not on exchange) apply according to their nationality, country of residence and diploma:
- First year of licence with a foreign secondary diploma: preliminary admission application (DAP), through Campus France (Études en France platform) in the 75 countries covered, such as Argentina or Mexico, or through the French embassy elsewhere; EU citizens with a French or European baccalaureate apply through Parcoursup
- Licence 2 and 3 and master's with foreign diplomas: online application on eCandidat, or through Campus France in Études en France countries

A French-language level is required for all degree applications:
- Licence (bachelor's): level B2 (TCF DAP for first-year entry, TCF or DELF B2)

The TCF DAP can be taken once a year at the Manufacture des Tabacs campus (registration fee €75). Holders of a French baccalauréat are exempt. Lyon 3 publishes resources to improve French, and exchange students can choose the SELF programme, taught in English.
