Exchange students receive information on admission, studies and their stay from the international office (DREIF) by email after applying, together with the guide The International Student Journey. Students coming individually (outside an exchange programme) follow the same guide and register online through "Mes services étudiants", paying the CVEC student contribution. Welcome days for exchange students are held in September and at the start of the second semester.
The Centre de linguistique appliquée (CLA) in Besançon teaches French as a foreign language to international students before and during their studies:
- DUEF semester programme (French language, culture and society) and an intensive programme
- Bridge to university (Prépa Université), including in summer
- DELF/DALF and TCF exam preparation
- Professional French (international relations, medical, business and more) and online classes
- Free intensive French before term for exchange students; credited French courses within degree programmes
The university points international students to the Campus France scholarship catalogue and lists the Victor Hugo scholarships and the France Excellence Eiffel 2026 scholarship programme for master's students.
