The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) describes itself as Nebraska's metropolitan university. Located in Omaha, Nebraska, United States, it has 14,972 students, including more than 1,600 international students, and links its teaching to the city through internships and partnerships with local employers.

UNO offers more than 200 accredited majors and programmes at undergraduate level and more than 70 graduate programmes, as well as online degrees and microcredentials. Areas of study include business, computer science and cybersecurity, engineering, aviation, criminology and criminal justice, education, public affairs, health and human sciences, and communication and media. Students can also take part in study abroad, and Education Abroad handles incoming exchange students.

International undergraduates show English proficiency with TOEFL, IELTS, PTE Academic or Duolingo results, for example IELTS 6.0 for general admission; students who do not yet meet the requirement may be admitted to UNO's Intensive English Program (IEP) or receive conditional admission. Applicants must provide a financial affidavit and bank statements, join the student health insurance plan and attend international student orientation. On-campus housing is available on the Dodge and Scott campuses, although students are not required to live on campus.
