In 2001 Valdosta State University established The English Language Institute with the objective of providing high quality English instruction for non-English speaking international students who wished to pursue higher education at Valdosta State University. Beside the English courses these students can participate in activities that will expose them to the community. Such activities include trips various cities and places of interest, conversation partners, and volunteering opportunities.
