Coastal Bend College (CBC) is a community college in Texas, supported by taxes from the State of Texas and Bee County. It opened in September 1967 as Bee County College and took its current name on 1 September 1998. The main campus is in Beeville, with further locations in Alice, Kingsville and Pleasanton.
CBC offers three main areas of study:
- Transfer and general education: Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) and Associate of Science (AS) degrees for students planning to move on to a four-year university
- Career and technical education, for example automotive technology, welding, business management, computer information technology and criminal justice
- Nursing and allied health, including nursing, radiologic technology, dental hygiene and health information technology
Some programmes are available online, and there is a dual credit programme for high school students. The admissions office has separate requirements for first-time, transfer and international students. On-campus housing is available for full-time students aged 17 or over; residents of Benton Hall must take a meal plan. The financial aid office helps with grants, loans, work-study and scholarships, and the Coastal Bend Promise Program allows eligible students from Bee, Atascosa, Jim Wells and Kleberg Counties to study tuition-free. CBC also has intercollegiate sports teams.

- Continuing education, including Phlebotomy, Medication Administration and CDL Training
Scholarships and financial aid
The Financial Aid Office helps students obtain grants, loans, work-study and scholarships. CBC scholarships are awarded according to programme, academic performance and financial need, and the Coastal Bend College Foundation awards further donor-funded scholarships, each with its own requirements. The Coastal Bend Promise Program is a last-dollar tuition initiative that lets eligible students from Bee, Atascosa, Jim Wells and Kleberg Counties attend tuition-free.
Housing
CBC has on-campus student housing run by the Office of Residence Life. Residents must be at least 17 years old at move-in and enrolled full time, and Benton Hall residents must take a meal plan. Students apply through the CBC Housing Portal after being accepted to the college. Fall contracts cover the full academic year (fall and spring); spring and summer contracts cover only that term. Applicants can request specific roommates, and suitemates in Benton Hall.
