The University of Denver (DU) is the oldest private university in the Rocky Mountain Region of the United States. It was founded in 1864, and currently operates as a coeducational, four-year university in Denver, Colorado. The school receives about 5,000 undergraduate students and 6,000 graduate students. The ELC within the university is an intensive ESL preparation program, aimed at students who wish to continue their education in the University of Denver, or other schools of higher education. The mission of the programs is to help students with cultural adjustments except for providing top quality English language instruction. The English Language Center at the University of Denver is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accrediation
