Hellenic International Studies in the Arts

Hellenic International Studies in the Arts (HISA) is an American university-level study abroad programme in studio art and liberal arts on the island of Paros, in the Cyclades, Greece. Founded in 2000, it is an educational organisation incorporated in the US. HISA writes its own syllabi, and its core courses are accredited by an American university. Transcripts are issued by HISA directly or by two affiliated American universities, and students may take up to 18 credits. Teaching is in small groups, often one to one, in HISA's facility, gallery and studio in the 17th-century Azari merchant quarters of Paroikia, the island's main village.

Academic field trips visit archaeological sites on Delos, Mykonos, Naxos, Santorini and other islands, and semester students have an optional five-day mid-term break to travel in Europe or Greece. Semester students have a private room with bathroom and kitchenette; summer students share double-occupancy apartments. Admission is on a rolling basis with no strict prerequisites, and applications are made through an online form.
