Marbella Design Academy

Higher education centre in Monda, Spain

Marbella Design Academy is a private international design school founded in 1995. It is based in Monda, a white village in the hills of Málaga province, about 15 kilometres from Marbella and 25 minutes from Málaga, and welcomes students from all countries. Teaching is in English.

  • BA (Hons) Interior Architecture & Design
  • BA (Hons) Fashion Design & Development
  • BA (Hons) Graphic Design & Media
  • Master's in Innovative Design
  • 12-week Design Foundation Course
  • BA Starter and Progression Courses

The bachelor's programmes are validated by the University of Bedfordshire, which awards graduates a UK Bachelor of Arts with Honours degree. All tutors are working professionals, such as interior architects, graphic and fashion designers, architects and photographers, and the academy regularly invites guest lecturers and designers for seminars, masterclasses and workshops.

Students who need a visa should allow up to 12 weeks for the application to be processed. The academy recommends that students live in Monda, a 200-metre walk from the school, where accommodation is cheaper than in Marbella; some students live in Coín, Marbella or elsewhere on the coast.
