The Bolles School is an independent college-preparatory day and boarding school in Jacksonville, Florida. It enrols more than 1,800 students from pre-kindergarten to grade 12, about 85 of them boarders, and its community represents 69 countries. Teaching takes place on four campuses:

  • Lower School Whitehurst Campus, Jacksonville (pre-K to grade 5)
  • Lower School Ponte Vedra Beach Campus (pre-K to grade 5)
  • Middle School Bartram Campus, Jacksonville (grades 6-8)
  • Upper School San Jose Campus, Jacksonville (grades 9-12)

The Upper School San Jose Campus, a historic building on the St. Johns River, is the centre of the Resident Life (boarding) programme. The school has 305 faculty and staff and keeps classes small. Its Chahlavi Center for Global Learning and Engagement, a partnership with the Global Online Academy, language study and international travel give students a global perspective. Outside class there are after-school activities, extended day care, summer programmes, tennis and a swim club.

Admission starts with an inquiry to an admission director and a campus visit, followed by an online application. Families can apply for need-based financial aid through the school's Affordability programme.

Tuition for the 2026-27 school year:

  • Lower School (pre-K to grade 5): US$14,580 to US$24,730
  • Middle School (grades 6-8): US$33,620
  • Upper School (grades 9-12): US$34,660
  • Boarding: US$70,770

Scholarships and financial aid

Bolles offers need-based financial aid through its Affordability programme, depending on demonstrated financial need and available funds. Families apply through the online Clarity Application, which covers assets, income, expenses and debts; submitting it costs US$65. The application deadline, including supporting documents, is 29 January 2027 for new students and 1 December 2026 for returning students.

Housing

Bolles is a day and boarding school; its Resident Life (boarding) programme is based at the Upper School San Jose Campus on the St. Johns River in Jacksonville. Around 85 of the school's students are boarders. Boarding costs US$70,770 for the 2026-27 school year.

Accreditation

Southern Association of Colleges and Schools since 1934. It is additionally accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools and the Florida Kindergarten Council.
