The Universität Klagenfurt (University of Klagenfurt) is a university in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, in the Austrian state of Carinthia, with its campus at Universitätsstraße 65-67 near Lake Wörthersee. Its programmes cover seven areas:

  • Social sciences
  • Technical sciences
  • Teacher training

Bachelor's degrees last six semesters (180 ECTS credits). From the 2026-27 winter semester, students can also take a combined bachelor's degree, pairing a 120-credit major with one 60-credit minor or two 30-credit minors chosen from more than 50 options. Some programmes are taught in English, for example the bachelor's programmes in Digital Media, Culture, and Communication, Information and Communications Engineering, and Social Sciences.

Admission to a bachelor's programme requires general university entrance qualification, and language requirements vary by programme. For the 2026-27 winter semester the general admission period for bachelor's programmes ended on 5 September 2026, with late enrolment possible in exceptional cases until 31 October. The university runs information events for international first-semester students and an intensive German course, and its study information service answers questions by phone and email.
