The Universität Wien (University of Vienna) in Vienna, Austria, has been a place of teaching and research since 1365 and describes itself as Austria's largest university, with about 87,000 students. Around one third of its students are international, and it has partnerships with more than 400 universities worldwide.

The university offers more than 180 programmes of study:

  • Postgraduate continuing education

Some programmes have an admission or aptitude procedure. Research focuses include culture and democracy, global health, climate and sustainability, the foundations of life, digitalisation, quantum systems and future materials.

For international and exchange students, the university takes part in Erasmus+, Circle U. and the CEEPUS network. Master's students from other universities can spend one semester in Vienna as Visiting Master students in the same field. Graduate programmes

The University of Vienna offers more than 120 master's programmes in languages, economics and business, law, the natural sciences, the humanities and the social sciences, for example Applied Economics, Data Science, Neuroscience, Physics, Translation, International Law (Internationale Rechtswissenschaften) and Psychotherapy. Some have an admission or aptitude procedure; entry requirements are set out in the Master Access Guide (MAG). Master's students can also take individual courses at the Central European University (CEU). Doctoral/PhD programmes and postgraduate continuing education are also offered.
