About Champaign
Champaign is a city in Illinois that forms a twin city with neighbouring Urbana. Together they are known as Champaign-Urbana, a university community whose foreign-born residents come from at least 76 countries, according to the City of Champaign. The city lies within reach of Chicago, Indianapolis and St. Louis.
For international students, Champaign offers a calmer, more affordable setting than a big city, with a large public research university on its doorstep and a community college that can serve as a first step towards a bachelor's degree.

Our directory lists one school in Champaign: Parkland College, a public two-year college that has been teaching since 1966. It offers vocational-technical and academic programmes, enrols approximately 12,000 students a year (College Navigator gives a student population of 6,014) and has students aged from 16 to 86, with a growing international presence. Once accepted at an SEVP-certified school, you receive a Form I-20 (or a DS-2019 for J exchange programmes) from its international student office. International students may work on campus up to 20 hours a week in their first year.
