Business Administration Studies in Venezuela
Business administration (administración de empresas, often simply administración) is taught in Venezuela as a full undergraduate degree at university level. Teaching is in Spanish. The programmes train graduates to manage the finances, marketing, people and operations of companies and other organisations, and most universities place them in a faculty of economic, social or administrative sciences.
SpainExchange lists two universities in Venezuela with business administration programmes, both private and both in the Caracas area. Spain's foreign ministry, in travel advice valid on 8 October 2026, recommends extreme caution when travelling to Venezuela, so read the current advice for your nationality before you plan a stay.
How the degree is organised
Undergraduate studies (pregrado) lead to a licenciatura. At the Universidad Nueva Esparta (UNE), for example, the School of Administration awards the title of Licenciado en Administración. Private universities measure the study load in credit units (unidades crédito, UC) and organise the year in academic periods.
At the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (UCAB), the study plan for Administración is spread over eight semesters. The first semesters cover mathematics, statistics, microeconomics and macroeconomics, marketing principles and commercial law. Later semesters add financial accounting, cost management, corporate finance, human talent management, supply chains, business intelligence and strategic planning, together with newer subjects such as fintech, trading and applications of artificial intelligence. The plan also includes an internship (pasantía). UCAB describes the main lines of the degree as human talent management, marketing, and finance and entrepreneurship, and offers a double degree with public accounting (Contaduría).
By law, every undergraduate student in Venezuela must also complete community service before graduating. It lasts at least 120 academic hours, spread over no less than three months.
After the degree, postgraduate study (postgrado) consists of specialisations, master's degrees and doctorates. UCAB's Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences has a doctorate in economics and a group of postgraduate programmes. UNE lists a master's degree in project management (Gerencia de Proyecto) and a doctorate in accounting (Contaduría).

Admission and costs
Private universities run their own admission process. At UCAB, applicants pre-register online, pay a pre-registration fee, hand in their documents in person or online and sit a knowledge test. The next test date published by the university is 31 October 2026. Foreign applicants should ask the university's secretariat which legalised school documents it needs.
UCAB charges tuition per credit unit. For the September 2026 to January 2027 semester it sets the value of one UC at $21 a month. Pre-registration costs 2 UC ($42) and the enrolment fee is 12.5 UC ($262.50). The rest is paid in five monthly instalments that depend on the number of UC taken. According to the university, a student takes 25 UC per semester on average, which means about $525 a month. Scholarships and financial help (Cooperación Económica) can reduce the amount. UNE publishes its enrolment instructions for each academic period; ask the university for current fees.
Foreign nationals need a visa for stays of more than three months, according to the Spanish travel advice. Students who want to use a Venezuelan degree in another country should check the recognition procedure there before enrolling.
Careers
The universities describe a wide range of roles for graduates. UCAB mentions the management of small and medium-sized companies, the direction of large corporations, project management and the development of new lines of business. UNE lists financial analyst, account manager, brand manager, digital marketing consultant, recruitment and training specialist, and jobs in operations, logistics and the supply chain. Graduates can also start their own company or work as consultants. No current official employment figures for graduates were found.
