Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) is a university in Thessaloniki, Greece. Its founding act was signed in 1925, and the university first opened its doors in 1926, when the Faculty of Philosophy began teaching; part of that faculty is still housed in the university's historic building. The university's postal address is the University Campus in Thessaloniki.

Over the decades AUTh has added faculties and schools in a wide range of fields, including:

• Philosophy, Psychology and Theology
• Law, Economics and Political Sciences
• Sciences, including Informatics
• Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Veterinary Medicine
• Agriculture and Forestry
• Engineering, including Urban-Regional Planning in Veroia
• Education, Fine Arts and Film Studies, Physical Education and Sports Sciences, and Journalism and Mass Media

AUTh offers 41 undergraduate study programmes leading to first-cycle degrees, as well as postgraduate studies. Undergraduate programmes last at least eight to ten semesters, and twelve semesters at the Medical School. Admission to undergraduate programmes is defined by the Ministry of Education, which accepts and processes all entry applications, and students register for their courses at the start of each semester.
