Ateneo Pontificio Regina Apostolorum

The Ateneo Pontificio Regina Apostolorum (APRA), in English the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum, is a pontifical academic institution of the Catholic Church with its campus in Rome. It was founded on 15 September 1993, promoted by the Congregation of the Legionaries of Christ, with the faculties of Theology and Philosophy. Pope John Paul II granted it the title of Pontifical in 1998, and in 2004 the Congregation for Catholic Education granted the decree of definitive canonical erection. Its stated mission is to train apostles, both clergy and lay Christian leaders, to serve the Church.

Programmes include first- and second-level degree courses, postgraduate courses and training courses; the Faculty of Bioethics awards baccalaureate, licentiate and doctorate degrees. Distance learning is offered, including online licentiates and diplomas of the Faculty of Theology. Specialised courses include one on the Ministry of Exorcism and Deliverance Prayer (10-14 May 2027). Institutions in Trujillo (Peru), Itapecerica da Serra (Brazil) and San Remo have joined the Faculty of Theology.
