Bow Valley College is a public college in Calgary, Alberta (Canada), funded by the Government of Alberta and described as the city's only community college. Its downtown campus is at 345 6 Avenue SE, and some programmes are also offered at regional sites such as the Okotoks Campus. Students come from about 150 countries.
The college offers career-focused programmes that take one or two years, studied full-time or part-time, online or in class, by day or evening:
- Post-secondary certificates and diplomas in business, technology, health and wellness, community studies and entertainment arts
- Post-diploma certificates
- General Arts and Sciences (university transfer)
- Academic upgrading
- English language learning, including English for Academic Purposes
All programmes are recognised as designated learning programmes, so international students can apply for a Canadian study permit, and most certificates and diplomas include an unpaid practicum. Teaching is in English; international applicants need, for example, IELTS Academic 6.0 for most programmes. They apply online with a CAD 150 application fee and must take most of their courses in person to meet study permit and post-graduation work permit rules.
