Mount Royal University (MRU) is an undergraduate university in Calgary, Alberta, at 4825 Mount Royal Gate SW, with over 100 years of history. It has five faculties - Arts, Business and Communications, Continuing Education, Health, Community and Education, and Science and Technology - and describes itself as student-first, with small class sizes.
International students can enrol in a long list of designated programmes on a study permit, including:
- Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Arts-Criminal Justice
- Bachelor of Business Administration
- Bachelor of Communication
- Bachelor of Science, Computer Information Systems and Aviation Management
- Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work, Child Studies and Education

According to the university, 95% of its programmes are eligible for a post-graduation work permit (PGWP), at least 70% of degrees include a practicum or co-op option, and 75 countries were represented on campus in 2026. Students who need to improve their English can take LEAP (Learn English for Academic Purposes). International students have a Global Student Lounge and immigration advising. Furnished on-campus residences are available, although housing is not guaranteed.

Many degrees are also offered with Honours.
Applicants whose first language is not English must complete any English course required for their programme and demonstrate English proficiency, for example with:
- IELTS Academic 6.5 (min. 5.5 in each band)
- TOEFL iBT 4.5 overall, min. 4.0 in each band (tests after 21 January 2026)
- PTE Academic 58 (min. 55 in each area)
- Duolingo English Test 120
- Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency: 176
- CAEL 70 (min. 60 in each band)
- LEAP 4 at Mount Royal with B- (80%), or 2 years of full-time study in English in a listed English-speaking country
MRU has fully furnished on-campus residences; applications for the 2026/2027 academic year are open. Housing is not guaranteed: students without an initial offer go on a waitlist and receive off-campus housing information. Offers are time-sensitive, and only MRU students can apply.
