The Cégep Gérald-Godin is a French-language college (cégep) in the West Island of Montreal, Quebec (Canada), and the only francophone cégep in that area. It has about 1,400 students and its campus lies on the Rivière des Prairies, in a quiet suburb away from the city centre but reachable by public transport.
It offers two kinds of diploma (DEC):
- Four pre-university programmes, usually two years long (three for double DECs), preparing for university, in natural sciences, science and computing, social sciences, and arts, letters and communication
- Seven technical programmes of three years with a work placement, including nursing, pharmacy technology, computer science, biopharmaceutical technology and early childhood education
- Tremplin DEC, a path to start college studies before choosing a programme
Its continuing education service offers AEC certificates and French courses (francisation). International students apply online through the regional admissions service SRAM, then start their immigration procedures. A dedicated contact handles questions from international students on admission, tuition and programmes. Because the cégep is in the Montreal metropolitan area, international students are not eligible for scholarships funded by the Quebec higher education ministry (MES).

The Tremplin DEC path lets students start college before choosing a programme.
Applications are made online only, through the Service régional d’admission du Montréal métropolitain (SRAM). Applicants need a Quebec secondary school diploma (DES) or vocational diploma (DEP), or training the cégep considers equivalent, and must meet the prerequisites of the chosen programme (for example mathematics, chemistry or physics for science programmes).
International students follow four steps: learn about the Quebec education system, apply through SRAM, complete immigration procedures and prepare their arrival in Quebec.
Pre-university DECs usually last two years (three years for double DECs). Technical DECs usually last three years and each includes a work placement. Every DEC also includes 12 general education courses and two complementary courses.
The international students page links to information on tuition fee exemptions and scholarships. International students enrolled at Gérald-Godin are not eligible for scholarships funded by the Quebec Ministry of Higher Education (MES), which are reserved for institutions outside the Montreal metropolitan community (CMM).
